As a precaution against the emergence of the COVID-19 variant in various countries, MOM (Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower Development) has announced that it will suspend the entry of work pass holders* entering Singapore in the coming weeks. After Tuesday, May 11, those who have been admitted to Singapore from high-risk countries/regions (countries/regions designated as high-risk by the Singapore government)** and have work pass approval will not be allowed to enter Singapore.

Exceptions are construction, marine shipyard, and process (CMP) work permit holders who have already been granted entry permits, except for a small group who will be arriving in June.

Migrant domestic workers who have already been approved may enter the country, except for a small group of construction, marine, shipyard, and process (CMP) work permit holders who have already been approved and are scheduled to arrive in June.
All other work pass holders may enter the country as approved.

All other work pass holders will not be allowed to enter Singapore.

From now on, depending on the situation, MOM will inform employers of the timing of re-entry application and entry, and priority will be given to those work-pass holders who are still waiting for entry.

Considering the need to reschedule the entry of work-pass holders who have already been approved for entry, MOM will not immediately accept new entry applications from high-risk countries/regions, except for workers needed for major projects.

MOM will be contacting affected work pass holders and their employers about the change in entry timing in due course.
The above changes do not affect work pass holders who have already been granted or are seeking entry clearance to enter Singapore from low-risk countries/regions3 under Regular Commuter Agreements (PCA), Reciprocal Green Lanes (RGL), and other approved travel lanes.

*: DP (including Dependant Pass)
**: Excludes Australia, Brunei, China, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau (entry is possible from these regions).
